LAS VEGAS HILLBILLYS

I don’t know why the hell I’m writing about this one.  I haven’t seen it in years, nor do I have a desire to, even if I could find the tape.

The plot, such as it is, in not really challenging.  We have a couple of fellers who open up a country music club in Las Vegas, much to the chagrin of some local hoodlums.

Dig this: the stage, such as it is, features a shower curtain-like thing that at least Del Reeves has to open himself to walk through so that he can do his song.  The audience he performs to is small – six people?  Not sure how few there were, but producers (The Woolner Brothers) looked to have spared ALL expense in hiring extras to be audience members.  Bet these extras had to bring their own wardrobe.

I suppose Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren were brought on to be the eye candy for horny dads everywhere who brought their kids to this matinee.

I do recall that Richard Kiel has a small role in this film.  You’ll remember him as “Jaws” in the 007 films, “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “Moonraker”.

I recommend this movie highly – to assist you in breaking that pesky pattern of insomnia!
